National Spa Experience Product Manager
I went to the University of Glamorgan to study Beauty Therapy and Spa Management. After University I moved to the Middle East and worked in Dubai, initially as a Spa Manager and then as an Area Manager working for some of the country’s leading hotels such as Grovesnor House and Emirates Towers. I returned to the UK in 2010, moved to London and joined charitable social enterprise and leisure operator GLL, who had just diversified into the spa sector with its fledgling spa brand Spa Experience.
Today Spa Experience consists of seven branches, with a number of new openings scheduled for 2016.
I think in this industry it is essential to stay current and ‘on trend’ and not to be afraid of change. It’s crucial to listen to what customers want now and to anticipate what they’ll want in the future.
My philosophy is based on positivity. It’s crucial to create a happy, working environment that encourages staff to want to stay for the long-term and engenders loyalty. I also think it’s important not to take yourself too seriously.
