TRIED AND TESTED: Elemis Thousand Flower Detox Wrap
Categories: Resident Blogger
I’m a HUGE fan of Elemis. Their affordable - yet quality - skincare suits me to a tee, and I always feel undoubtedly pampered after indulging in one of their treatments. Which is why I was more than happy to try out the brand’s beautifully-named Thousand Flower Detox Wrap - with the promise of ‘deeply nourishing’ and ‘completely reinvigorating’ my tired (and really quite sorry-looking skin), I knew I was onto a winner. Reading about the detox wrap prior to my appointment, I recognised that this was a body treatment with a difference. Targeting toxins, dehydrated skin and low energy levels, I had hopes of leaving my lovely therapist with a renewed vigour - body and mind!
I wasn’t disappointed.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
The nutrient-rich wrap is layered into a few different parts. Firstly, Green Tea Oil is massaged into your skin, followed by the Thousand Flower, vitamin-packed mask to encourage your body to surrender its toxins. While wrapped, you enjoy a shoulder massage, facial cleanse and scalp massage, before showering. The final part is the application of the Green Tea Balm which is super rich in minerals, proteins and omegas - your skin’s superfoods.
MY VERDICT
I loved the gentle body brush used on my skin prior to the application of the Green Tea Oil - it really reinforced the healthy, feel-good factor of the treatment. Dry skin brushing helps shed dead skin cells (and encourages new cell renewal) which results in smoother and brighter skin. It also assists in improving vascular blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. The shoulder massage, facial cleanse, and scalp massage while wrapped were really calming elements to the treatment - and were a welcome contrast to the invigorating application of the body mask. My favourite part was probably the generous smearing of Green Tea Seed Balm at the end. It’s no wonder the balm left my skin feeling ridiculously smooth for days afterwards - it’s positively PACKED with good stuff.
Naturally high in Vitamin E, Omega 9 and a whole host of fatty acids, anti-oxidants and healing oils, the ingredients of the balm make sure your skin is calm, nourished and protected. Although the body wrap was a more dynamic treatment to my usual go-to, I’m glad I gave it a try. My dry, un-loved skin certainly thanked me for it!
If your skin is in need of a good boost as we head into the Summer months, this Elemis treatment is definitely for you.
The Elemis Thousand Flower Wrap is only £50 and is available until the 30th June 2018. Treatments are subject to availability and advance booking is required.
