The Green Glow - Skin Boosting Smoothie

Categories: Recipes
Smoothies are an easy way to cram more greens into your diet and keep your skin hydrated. Using frozen chopped bananas gives this smoothie a deliciously creamy texture.  For an additional protein boost you could add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.

Broccoli and spinach are packed with antioxidants including vitamins C and carotenoids to protect our skin from damage. They also provide glucosinolates known to help our liver detoxification pathways eliminate daily toxins. Being rich in  sulforaphanes they can also aid skin renewal. Adding avocado makes the smoothie rich and creamy and provides plenty of skin boosting healthy fats.  Pineapple is known for its anti-inflammatory properties being a source a bromelain, an enzyme that also aids digestion.
